Become the Energizer Bunny

Become the Energizer Bunny. If there is one iconic brand mascot, it’s the Energizer Bunny.

It’s a pink, mechanical rabbit that beats a drum.

It became so well known that the Energizer Bunny is now a term for anything that continues endlessly or has immense stamina.

He keeps going and going and going…

And is a symbol of long lasting power.

Energy bunnies work like horses.

Persistent energy, in fact, is the Holy Grail of success in business and life.

Where do you get your energy?

Persistence is defined as, “continue firmly or obstinately in an opinion or a course of action in spite of difficulty, opposition, or failure.”

Persistence is the muscle that turns your ideas into reality.

No idea simply goes to market without complications, unforeseen difficulties and most take much longer than imagined.

When things are NOT going well I simply tap into my persistence formula — all difficulties can be overcome by the right amount of effort (persistence).

Become the Energizer Bunny

An Energizer Bunny level of persistence is one of the most valuable and necessary virtues of the successful entrepreneur.

You will hit times of difficulty, opposition and failure and the only way to conquer this is to persist.

Those that are unable to persist will fail.

Can you keep going and going and going?

People often ask me, “Where do you get your energy?”

At 61 years of age, it is such a compliment that others use me as an example of work ethic and energy level.

Another recurring question I get from people is, “How much sleep do you get each day or what time do you wake up?” Some people seem to think that I work 24 hours a day and deprive myself of both sleep and family.

The truth is I get 8 hours of sleep and have been known to love naps and I probably spend more time with my family than most.

Interestingly enough, I don’t do any of the popular energy drinks like Red Bull and such, yet I do seem to produce a lot of energy.

I used to depend on the energy drinks that were loaded with sugars and caffeine for that afternoon lift but I found that they made me crash soon after using them and didn’t really add to my production or the type of energy I desired.

What has helped me most in producing energy for myself has simply been in understanding the definition of energy.

Energy is defined as  “the capacity or power to do work, such as the capacity to move an object (of a given mass) by the application of force.”

When I got that full understanding I realized it was me in charge of producing energy by getting things accomplished.

Nothing makes me more energetic than completing a job well done.

We all know the importance of sleep, water hydration, exercise, and the food you eat for the body’s ability to produce energy.

I try to drink water but I am terrible at it and I don’t always eat right.

I get eight hours of sleep every day by controlling what time I go to sleep at night and every day and I try to juice a combination of fruits and vegetables with my favorite being; ginger, apple, kale, carrot, cucumber, and fennel.

What has helped me most in producing energy are these 4 simple things:

  1. Understand that energy as the capacity or power to do work. You can’t buy that in a container.
  2. When I took on the position as the manufacturer or source of energy production rather than a receiver of it.
  3. I show up each day and do the work no matter how I feel about it.
  4. Stay close to my purpose by writing daily on my purpose and long term out of reach goals. I know immediately when I am off my purpose because I become very tired. This is so important to me that I created an entire program for my employees on how to stay on purpose, focused and motivated called 100 Ways to Stay Motivated that you can get for free inside Cardone University.

Let’s face it, if you can’t control your energy it will prove very difficult to control much of anything in life or in business.

To have long-term success, you have to take care of the container, the energy unit.

So, take care of your energy unit!

If you want success, you’re going to need to exercise. What does exercise have to do with motivation?

If you get up from your chair and do 10 push-ups, I guarantee you will feel different. It’s how I start my days. It gets the blood flowing. That blood flow gets you on more calls, talking to more prospects and closing more deals.

That’s what your body is—a unit of energy.

It’s when you are bored and not producing that you feel you have no energy.

You can simply create higher levels of energy by doing a few jumping jacks, a few push-ups, a few pull-ups.

Exercise is movement. Walk, run, stretch—anytime you move your body you create energy. The more energy that is produced the more production will be created.

Production creates morale.

Higher levels of production produce higher levels of self-worth. Nobody feels good if they do nothing.

If you sit at home all day and do nothing, I promise you by the end of it you will not feel very good about yourself.

Success is really simple.

It comes down to production—and that comes from energy.

Use exercise as a way to produce energy.

I’m not some freak aberration of nature, we all have a lot of energy in us we just have to access it.

  • Your body is a vehicle.
  • You are the driver.
  • So get in control of it.

If you had a Lamborghini wouldn’t you take care of it? Would you not drive it?

If you are already exercising—great. If not, I want you to start today AND get on Cardone University. Get your physical game right and your mental game tight.

Your energy unit needs to have the horse-power to produce at the levels I’m going to train you at.

You can be the Energizer Bunny.

Let’s do this!

Be Great,

Energy is produced within! I’ve found as well most businesses lack not the energy, but what to actually do with that energy! Their conversion is down the drain, they have little to no idea how to scale and expand, and their obscurity is immense. Another great article!

Good article! I get energy from working too, and from walking about 3 to 6 miles per day. Also by eating good food and sleeping 1-2 hours afternoon and 6-8 hours at night.

I literally was just saying I forget to ask you yesterday at Boot Camp where you get your energy from and how you create time to exercise

Great article. Success is indeed very simple. Sometimes even when you do not want to get up and do something, that’s when the will power and the discipline come into play coupled with knowing your “why”, your purpose. You consciously choose to do what you want most, rather than what you want now.

Great advice. I will use these things to get my energy firing throughout a busy and productive day. And keep it going through to the end of the month.

Right on Grant! I’ve made 83 swings around and I’m still crankin’ into the future and still swingin’ for the fence. As a 61 year ol’ energetic bunny your self your word and deeds set a great example, demonstrate, help and inspire many. Thanks for being, doing and your havinness level.
