Making a Difference is the Difference

Top 50 Traits of Great Salespeople #47: Great salespeople are completely convinced that what they are doing is making a difference for their clients.

If the one and only incentive to your job (or the products and services you’re selling) is the paycheck, then I encourage you to get out right now.

Great salespeople are great because they know that their efforts go towards helping people. This is something that they are so convinced about that they would still believe in their products if they were getting paid nothing to promote them.

When was the last time you saw a movie because a friend or family member recommended it? Were they being paid to talk about the movie? More than likely, no. More than likely they saw the movie and loved it so much that they had to tell you about their experience. They insisted that going to see that movie was the best thing you could do. They were so sold on the greatness of the movie that you had to go and see for yourself.

That’s the type of feeling you need to experience towards your product and services. Know that what you’re doing is going way beyond money. You’re helping people and improving their quality of life.

Yes, a paycheck is great but when you become great, a paycheck is just frosting on the cake.
