2 Things You Need Both in the Office AND at Home

Is Your Household Run Like a Business?

What you’ll learn in this article: 2 principles that will make you better at work and at home.

I have worked with companies like Google, Sprint, Aflac, Toyota, and Morgan Stanley and thousands more. I own and operate five companies that do over $100 million in annual sales and I’m also a New York Times best-selling author and considered the top sales training and social media expert in the world today.

For all my insights on sales, marketing, and branding—I’m here today to tell you that it all relates practically to running a household.

Office vs. Home

People who are success-minded don’t want to just win in one area.  Who wants to be great in business and fail at home?

I want to give you 2 practical tips that will make you better in business but also a better mom or dad.

#1 Be Dedicated to Continuous Learning

For many, perhaps for you or your kid, school sucks. But you don’t need to go to “school” to learn. The most successful CEO’s are reported to read an average of 60 books a year. The average American worker reads less than 1 book a year.

The wealthy spend time and energy committed to reading, studying, and educating themselves to become better. Rather than worrying about the cost of something, focus on the benefit. Seek out new information and never stop learning. By doing this you’ll better yourself but you’ll spark an interest in continued learning in your family.

Learn about what you want to learn about, and let your kids learn about what interests them.

#2 Be on a mission

Until something is a mission to you, it’s just a job. Those who are most successful have massive targets because they are looking to achieve something great—they have great purpose.

Have a zealous attitude that you will change the world, and this goes for both your business and your home. The truth is, I just do my life, and my business and my household both support my missions.

Do you know your mission? Without a clear purpose, you’re going to wander.

Hope that helps,

P.S. If you want help getting on a mission and continue your learning, get on of my Training Programs HERE.

My name is Alexander Jensen and I do not have a sales job.

I’m 29 and am married with 2 young kids, no debt, 3 months savings, a miserable income, and I’ve been on payroll somewhere since age 13. I have only a horizontal sphere of influence where “great” income is $60k but I’ve been a misfit all my life and am desperate to “open the lid.”

My main background has been in mechanics but I left the field to find a career that provides “fantastic” income, (small thinking aiming for $100k+), flexible schedule, and allows me to prioritize my family.

To build a home inspection career on the side, I spent the past year working as a server in a restaurant. I have no passion for home inspections but I thought it met my criteria. Two jobs with only one providing income thus far means my wife and kids pay the price. Recently, I interviewed with northwestern mutual and met a normal guy who makes $800k. The number rocked my world and I was determined to make them my future. I was turned down after step 3 of their hiring process showed my sphere of influence to be “too small.”

Listening to you speak and reading your material has caused growing discontentment with my goals and current circumstances. Thank you for this!

What advice do you have? I feel TOTALLY LOST, extremely frustrated, and clueless as to what I should do. I know I’m operating so far below my potential.

I posses grit, an agreeable and likable personality, and have been purposefully honing my people skills while serving.

I thank you for your time and I hope for your reply!

    Hello GC,

I first picked up your Millionaire – MP3 booklet. Then I went ahead and got The Closer’s Survival Guide. I took a break from the car business for a few years and recently decided to get back since it has always been like a paused chapter in my life. I am loving it and your book in mp3 and digital copy are basically all I listen to and read. I read your blog and listen to you speak and it rings so much true in my life. I never stop reading or trying to learn something new. I have never been a reader but, I guess in the last couple of years I have created this mission of just pure hustle. Last year I was just sitting in my office thinking and it came to mind this realization. “I am going to be rich” there is no way that I can fail. I am putting so much time and effort. I am being ridiculed at work right now but, I am a part-time at the Dealer right now only able to work less than 30 hours a week and they see me go. I am working about 15 hours a day and haven’t had a day off in about two months. I am committed GC. Thank you for all these information you sell. It’s GOLD!!!!!
