What do Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and Dwayne Wade have in common with business success? Everything.

Between the years of 1991 and 2013, there were 23 NBA championships won, and 14 of those were won by teams led by just 3 men—Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and Dwayne Wade. There is only one man who has helped bring out the best in 14 different NBA championship teams. His name is Tim Grover, and he personally trained elite champions Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and Dwayne Wade. You may not play basketball, I don’t, but Tim can still help us in our business because he will help us understand what it means to dominate.

To be the best in sports or business or any other aspect of life, it’s never enough to just get to the top; you have to stay there, and then you have to climb higher because there’s always someone right behind you trying to catch up. Most people are willing to settle for “good enough.” But if you want to be unstoppable, those words mean nothing to you. Being the best means engineering your life so you never stop until you get what you want, and then you keep going until you get what’s next. And then you go for even more.

“I consider Tim Grover to be SECOND TO NONE in his knowledge of sports training, and an invaluable part of my training program.” – Michael Jordan

Here are 5 steps I took from Tim that I know you can also use to help dominate the marketplace:

1. Decide

In business and in life, there are decisions we are constantly making. There are the everyday decisions like what to have for dinner and what movie to see; but then there are the big decisions calling for big leadership. One thing I’ve noticed is that when we refuse to decide, that in itself is a decision. It’s actually a decision to continue with the way things are. All decisions have a cost associated with them. If you are going to become unstoppable, the first step is to decide to become unstoppable.

2. Commit

Committing means you’re all-in, all the way—you are done looking around for reasons. I would rather commit to the wrong thing all the way than commit to the right thing halfway. Whenever I commit fully to any line of action I get immediate results. When I’m not committed all the way I find that results become delayed or non-existent. Commitments require time, energy, and money. Commit to dominate or you never will.

3. Act

Success is determined not by intelligence, timing, management or leadership but by your ability to take massive, whatever it takes, levels of action. Everyone is taking action just not the right level of action. There are only four levels of action: do nothing, retreat, normal levels, and massive. Massive actions are the only way to dominate anything, so once you decide and commit, it’s time to act big.

4. Succeed

Most people fail to realize that success is never achieved overnight. It’s never instantaneous. It never comes without persistence and preparation, but it is attainable. Some people try and have success before they act. I see people asking me about investing money before they are even able to make money and keep the money. Remember you succeed only after taking action.

5. Repeat

Success demands continuous attention. It’s somewhat like a lawn or garden; no matter how green it gets or beautiful the flowers, you must continue to tend to it. You have to keep mowing, trimming, edging, watering, and planting; otherwise, your grass will turn brown and your flowers will die. That is the case for success as well. There is no retreating for those who want to create and keep it. You have to repeat the steps: deciding, committing, acting, and succeeding again and again.

Tim Grover is the master of mental toughness and can help you discover what you’re capable of achieving, getting results you never imagined, reaching the highest level of success—and then going even higher.” – Kobe Bryant

I want you to be at the upcoming 10X Growth Conference in Miami this March. Tim Grover will be there among many other successful entrepreneurs. It’s time you decide on this—that is the first step to any success. Will you make that decision today? Learn more here on how you can blow up in 2017.

Be great,
