Salespeople Are Made, Not Born

Look, every pro trains. Athletes are made through training. Doctors are made through training. Salespeople are made through training. I was 25 and I hated selling, I hated the phone, I hated prospecting, and I hated everything to do with sales. I even hated the fact that I had to tell people I was a salesperson. You know why? Because I didn’t know what I was doing, I sucked at it, I wasn’t producing enough and didn’t have confidence. The daily ritual that changed my life was training. Competence and confidence are critical to how you feel about your business and your industry. Competence and confidence come from training. You have to know what you are doing and have the strategy down to a natural action. When I was 25 years old I borrowed $3,000 from my mom to invest in a training program. I told her I hated my job and that I had to learn how to do my job better, because if I could learn how to do it and get results I’d probably like it. Every morning I’d wake up two hours early, do a quick work out, then start watching training videos. I watched those videos over and over and over again. Then one day I realized I was starting to understand some of it. It gave me a track to run on. On the way to work as I drove I’d listen to more training programs about sales, prospecting, follow-up, cold calls—everything to do with selling. I immersed myself in the idea of becoming a professional.

Training doesn’t stop after a month or a year. You have to continually grow.

Look, how else are you going to do it? Every pro trains. I’ll give you $100 if you can tell me one pro, somebody you and I both know, that didn’t have to train. Everyone who gets great at something has to train—there is no getting around it. You weren’t born with great skills. I was born a baby—I didn’t know how to sell. Just as athletes are made through training, salespeople are made through training. Does a guy have a gift to jump and throw? Sure he does, but he still has to develop that talent and build the discipline to perform when it matters, not just when he is in the mood. The greatest salespeople are devoted to being in their absolute best physical and mental condition.

This guy has himself and his team on for only 4 months and made his $85,000 investment back in ONE day.

Look, if the training is worth doing it’s worth doing every day. If you’re not going to do it every day it’s not going to work. Training is the difference between just getting by and being great. If you keep doing what you’re doing you’ll keep getting what you’re getting. To expand your income you’re going to have to train and become great at sales—even if you are not a “salesperson”. Cardone University was created to be the best platform in the world to train anyone how to become a pro in sales. Invest in it, get on it and train every day. The only thing you have to lose is the income you won’t make by not doing it. I went from nothing at 25 and today I’m on my way to a billion. I’m giving you my knowledge for less than $1,000—it’s crazy. If you were an aspiring basketball player would you give $1,000 to learn from LeBron James? If you were an aspiring painter would you pay Michelangelo Well, if you aspire to get rich, I’m here for you. Enroll now. Be great, GC
