Veterans Day traces its origins to World War I, when an armistice was reached between the Allied nations and Germany. It went into effect on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918. The following year, Nov. 11 became officially known as Armistice Day, a day set aside to honor those who had died in service to the country.
Veterans represent the ideas of sacrifice, commitment, duty, obligation and love of their country. The commitment of these individuals that have given their lives in teh cause of protecting this great land and defending her security is unparalleled.
"Success is your duty, obligation and responsibility!"
The love of country and commitment to their duty that soldiers exemplify is profound. The idea of fighting for something you believe in with all your heart, doing the most courageous thing and putting your life on the line for the most precious things in life, stands as an example for all of us. Veterans and all those that fight for the American way of life are to be acknowledged on this day and everyday. They fight for a country where every American that wants to achieve great success has the right to.
It is up to us back here at home that are enjoying the security they are providing us to create an economy that they can come back to and work and prosper in. Let's put aside all the protesting and fighting internally and get back to making this country a great example for the rest of the world and make our Veterans and those serving even more proud about the path they have chosen.
Thanks to ALL those that serve.
