Have you ever seen companies that are in such a decline that you think there's almost no way they can escape it? I don't believe anything is impossible as long as you take massive action.
Recently, I had the opportunity to spend a week at a company that was in a downturn. There was no sales process in place, no sales team, no dedicated front desk, and very little communication between management and the staff. I went in and evaluated what they had to do in order to turn everything around.
The first thing I did was “mystery shop” the company to determine what was actually happening. As a mystery shopper, I went in as a customer and experienced firsthand the reasons why they were losing sales opportunities and customers instead of gaining them. Rather than asking people what they were doing and getting perceptions, I was able to immediately see and experience the flaws with the current processes or in this case the lack of processes in place at this company. Unlike most mystery shoppers though, I was able to not only figure out the problems but also create solutions. The first step in doing so was by replacing the lack of process and bad habits with new processes and good habits.
Within the first week, we put in a sales process and “new members” tour that immediately resulted in the entire
staff being able to sign up new members. We also created a new tour of the company where we could do a better job of building value allowing the company to justly multiply their prices by five times while we were there! Because they took massive action and made the changes necessary to succeed, I felt proud to leave them with a great start to getting their business back in shape and in the direction of ultimate success.
One of the things I love the most is helping people have the ability to help themselves. If you're interested in our “mystery shop” evaluation and sales solution program, definitely give us a call at 1-800-368-5771. Grant Cardone
