It Takes Courage to Make Money

It doesn’t take money to make money. It takes courage to make money. You have got to step outside the box and sacrifice fun today for freedom tomorrow. Are you at the club more often than the bank? Prior to 2008, I wasn’t getting my financial house in order because I was playing golf three times a week. We all know life is not only about work and money, but notice how many people have no fun because of too much work and no money? I want to talk to you today about finding your business balls. Having courage is doing the things you are scared to do. Don’t pull back from the things that you are afraid of. Everyone is scared of different things, that’s what makes us human beings. The more you can overcome your fears, the more confidence you’ll get. Pulling away in life from anything—investing, education, people, meetings—if you are pulling away it is a retreat. Retreating is never inspiring or motivating. Move into the things you fear. Courage takes action. Make a list of the things that you are scared of and start doing them one at a time. Do the biggest things first. Get them out of the way and it will motivate you to overcome the others. It doesn’t matter what it is. If you are scared of it, move to it, do it. Make the sales call you need to make. Maybe you don’t want to jump out of a plane. You say, “I am scared of heights.” Good, go handle it. Approach it, confront it, deal with it, and beat it, that’s how you achieve confidence and motivation. When I first started public speaking I was terrified. I don’t know why I was scared, but I was. I literally could not sleep the night before I had to speak to an audience. It didn’t matter whether it was a small group or a very large one. I found myself actually avoiding speaking to more than two people at a time. I realized this fear was holding me back from my potential to get my brand out there and get my ideas known. I had to make a commitment to overcome my fear of public speaking to learn how to talk to audiences with confidence. Since that decision, I have delivered over 2000 speaking engagements to entrepreneurs, small businesses and Fortune 500 companies. You can watch me broadcast live video on Periscope and Facebook where I’m able to communicate directly to thousands of people across the entire planet! I was able to handle my fear of public speaking by first committing to overcome the fear. Over the years I have learned from other great speakers, listening and watching people like Bill Clinton, Steve Jobs, Joel Osteen, John Maxwell, Seth Godin, Gary Vaynerchuk, and others. They’ve inspired me to become more confident in my abilities. Overcoming fear always takes courage. You need to commit to overcome your fears, doubts, and insecurities. To not pull out, to swing big, takes more than just brass balls. Having the courage to commit to overcoming your fears takes 10X Balls—whatever gender you are. After all, conquering fear is stressful. Be great, GC

It’s very true.

It takes courage to go all in.

It takes courage to be unreasonable.

It takes courage to burn in down… to go for attention that means business.

It takes courage to walk beyond comfort zone.

I wrote a post on my blog about this subject here – http://joshprogress.com/2014/12/09/the-opposite-of-courage-isnt-fear-but-conformity/

Just in case.
