2 Things You Need Both in the Office AND at Home

Is Your Household Run Like a Business?

What you’ll learn in this article: 2 principles that will make you better at work and at home.

Introduction

I have worked with companies like Google, Sprint, Aflac, Toyota, and Morgan Stanley and thousands more. I own and operate five companies that do over $100 million in annual sales and I’m also a New York Times best-selling author and considered the top sales training and social media expert in the world today.

For all my insights on sales, marketing, and branding—I’m here today to tell you that it all relates practically to running a household.

Office vs. Home

People who are success-minded don’t want to just win in one area.  Who wants to be great in business and fail at home?

I want to give you 2 practical tips that will make you better in business but also a better mom or dad.

#1 Be Dedicated to Continuous Learning

For many, perhaps for you or your kid, school sucks. But you don’t need to go to “school” to learn. The most successful CEO’s are reported to read an average of 60 books a year. The average American worker reads less than 1 book a year.

The wealthy spend time and energy committed to reading, studying, and educating themselves to become better. Rather than worrying about the cost of something, focus on the benefit. Seek out new information and never stop learning. By doing this you’ll better yourself but you’ll spark an interest in continued learning in your family.

Learn about what you want to learn about, and let your kids learn about what interests them.

#2 Be on a mission

Until something is a mission to you, it’s just a job. Those who are most successful have massive targets because they are looking to achieve something great—they have great purpose.

Have a zealous attitude that you will change the world, and this goes for both your business and your home. The truth is, I just do my life, and my business and my household both support my missions.

Do you know your mission? Without a clear purpose, you’re going to wander.

Hope that helps,

GC
